Abolish provides professional bird control services ranging from small two-man team residential jobs to large ten-man team industrial jobs. Whatever the circumstance may be, our training and expertise prepares our technicians for difficult and sometimes unusual situations. Abolish is an environmentally caring company; we do not harm animals and obide by all rule and regulations.

The difference between Us and Them

In the first place, conventional pest control companies do not normally deal with birds. It requires a whole different knowledge in a different field. It is one thing to pest proof against rodents and spray for insects, it is a whole new playingfield when it comes to birds. Not only are they able to access places difficult for human access, they leave a hazourdous mess behind. Without proper training and knowledge of Bird Control you may be wasting money on ineffective services and/or products. The Abolish crew uses a variety of products to effectively deter nesting and roosting. Abolish is one of few pest control companies with a specialized Bird control crew. Their main training and duties are in bird control. The extensive amount of training it takes to become a bird specialist makes the Abolish team one of the best.

Our Bird Control services we provide.

First you must narrow down your pest problem to a single category. Once you have a general idea choose one of the following services below for more info, pictures, facts, and services.

Pigeon Control

Pigeon control is a growing concern for home owners, businesses, and schools. The answer to most bird problems aren't solved by simply removing the birds. Removing the birds only creates an opening for the same predicament to reoccur. Our objective in bird control is to, of course, remove the problem but also prevent it from happening again. Bird control should be a multi-step process: inspecting, removing/trapping, cleaning, and proofing. Without proper proofing the problem may reoccur causing a routine bird control service. The difference between Abolish and other pest control companies is "we want to get it right the first time". Check out Abolishbirdcontrol.com

Pigeons are not migratory birds and generally stay near their birth place. Pigeons mate for life and if one dies the other will take a new mate. Their accumulation of feces can harbor histoplasmosis, a systemic fungus disease that affects the human respiratory tract. The acidic droppings also corrode paint and deface buildings. The external parasites of pigeons include various species of mites, fleas, ticks, and bugs, many of which will readily bite people.

The Rock Pigeon makes a flimsy nest, but it often reuses the location repeatedly, building a new nest on top of the first. Because the pigeons do not try to remove the feces of their nestlings, the nest turns into a sturdy, pot-like mound that gets larger month by month. Unhatched eggs and mummies of dead nestlings may also get cemented into the nest. (http://www.birds.cornell.edu)

Swallow Bird Control

Swallows are often a nuisance in suburban areas as they build their mud nests that damage and deface the outer walls and eaves of residences and office buildings. Swallow feces often end up on the sides of buildings and the ground below from the colony of birds in residence. Building owners report extra clean up costs and concern over slip and fall liability from swallow dropping buildup, plus an unclean, dirty company image. The bacteria, fungal agents and parasites found in swallow droppings and nests can carry hosts with serious diseases, including histoplasmosis, encephalitis, salmonella, meningitis, toxoplasmosis and more.

One of the most innovative and effective Swallow control products is called BirdslideTM. Birdslide is used for ledges and under eaves to prevent roosting birds or nesting Swallows. For swallows, Birdslide can be used upside down under eaves to exclude the birds. Our technicians are well trained in the use of this product.

Sparrows

The house sparrow is a small but stocky bird 5.5 to 6.5 inches in length. The male can be distinguished from all common native sparrows by its black throat and upper breast and ash gray crown as well as a chestnut colored cape extending from the eyes along the side and back of the neck. Sparrows as well as most birds are a beautiful form of nature. We are an environmentally caring company and it is our intention to not harm animals but to simply have them move on or be relocated. Sparrow control consists of prevention and removal.

Our prevention methods are the use of a mixture of effective products and solutions. One of the most effective and visually appealing solutions is Birdslide.

Crows

The most common crow in North America is the American Crow. They are social birds and usually have large families. Crows roost in large numbers in the Fall and Winter. Crows are also protective over their fledglings and may attempt to chase off potential predators (like you).

Seagulls

Seagulls are everywhere and anywhere food is. They can be found in large numbers around commercial and residential areas foraging through garbage and scavenging for food. They can be a problem to work and live with because of their constant noise, damage to property, their accumulation of feces, and potential health risks.

Woodpeckers

Woodpeckers are notorious for the damage they cause to trees and manmade structures. They tend to use their bill to search for insects within the bark. The Acorn Woodpecker is a particular nuisance to homeowners since they drill holes to store acorns. Some cases a tree or home can have up to 50,000 holes used for storage. Woodpeckers should not be harmed but properly excluded by preventing them from drilling holes. Woodpeckers are difficult to deter but using impenetrable material is the best solution.
